3)at,in和on表示地点的区别:
I shall wait for you at the station.
He lives at 115 Fuzhou Road.
He lives in Shanghai.
I met him at the postoffice.
I'm now working in the postoffice.
The picture was hanging on the wall.
He put the book on the table and sat on the chair.
例如:
He lives in a house on the river.
Xiamen is on the sea.
New York is on the Hudson River.
但:He sails on the river every day.
4)besides,except,but,except for,except that/when的区别:
Besides Mr.Wang,we also went to see the film.(王先生也去了)
We have no other books besides(except)these.
We all went to see the film except Mr. Wang.(王先生没去)
Nobody knew it but me.
Who would do such a thing but Jack.
Except for this, everything is in order.=Everything is in order except this.
The composition is very good except for a few spelling mistakes.
The village is quiet except for some birds singing in the woods.
except that/when是连接词,后接从句。例如:
This suit fits me well except that the trousers are too long.
He does morning exercises every day except when it is raining.
