used to 是“过去经常(现已不再)”,后接不定式:
His nephew used to visit him at Christmas.他的侄儿过去经常在圣诞节来看他。
He doesn't work here now but he used to .他现在不在这里工作,但过去在这里工作过。
He used to be as thin as she. 他过去跟她一样瘦弱。
People used to think that the earth was flat. 过去人们认为地球是扁平的。
used to 的否定式是used not to ，或didn't used to， 或didn't use to，或 never used to:
Father used not to be so forgetful. 父亲过去没有那么健忘。
He didn't used to travel by air. 他过去不乘飞机旅行。
She didn't use to do it， did she 她过去不干这事,是吗?
I never used to smoke. 我过去从不抽烟。
used to 的疑问式是 did...use（d） to...， 或 used...to...,例:
Did you use to play basketball 你过去常打篮球吗?
Used you to live in Shanghai 你过去在上海居住吗?
Didn't there use（d） to be a shop at the corner of the street 街角过去曾经有一家商店吗?
You used to work in the factory， usedn't you 你在工厂工作过,对吗?
There used to be some trees in this field， use（d）n't there这田里过去有树,是吗?
注意区别be used to,它是“习惯于”,其中的 to 是介词,后接名词、代词或动名词;be有各种时态,还可有get used to ，become used to等
变化形式:
I am used to the noise of the plane. 我习惯了飞机的噪音。
He has always been used to hard work. 他已经习惯了艰苦的工作。
I've got used to English food. 我已经习惯了英国食品。
I'll maybe get used to that sort of things. 对那种事情我也许会习惯的。
Are you used to getting up early 你习惯了早起吗?
I am not used to being treated like that.我不习惯受到那样的对待。
“ Have you got used to the climate here ”
“ Yes， I have. But I wasn't used to it when I came two years ago.”
“ 你习惯了这里的气候吗?”
“ 习惯了。两年前我来这里时可不习惯。”
